2. What are your top three suggestions for enhancing and improving the existing open space in your community?
Think about the existing open space you use or know about in your community.
Please prioritize your top three suggestions (specific and/or general) for how these spaces could be enhanced and improved at the top of your post.
I really feel that planting
I really feel that planting trees, shrubs, and flowers in open spaces is important in enhancing the look of open spaces. I feel that in areas that have well maintained gardens, it is more inviting for people to stroll though, and less likely to attract crime. Not only does it improve the look of an area, but it helps attract new people to move into the neighborhood, and maintain their properties as well.
Community gardens also help a great deal to vastly improve open spaces.

Enhancing open spaces
Firstly,I'd like to say I'm very excited about this project and grateful for it. I agree that we need to preserve the historical buildings in Germantown. This neiborhood is a jewel in the rough.
I think that carefully chosen perennials as well as trees and shrubs can be affordable.
I hope that funds can be found to help with the community gardens. It would not take that much as some of them are already established. People sometimes get discouraged because of poor soil, poor access to water (even though in my neighborhood community garden the water line and faucet is already present but damaged)etc.
Thank You for this project!
