Top three ideas for new open space
My top three ideas for new open space in the community are:
1. There should be green squares interspersed within the Wynnefield and West Philadelphia neighborhoods, like Rittenhouse Square and Washington Square in Center City Philadelphia.
2. Large vacant lots or contiguous vacant lots within the Wynnefield and West Philadelphia neighborhoods should be turned into baseball diamonds, football fields or cricket fields for the local residents, who include West Indian Americans who play cricket.
3. Landscape architecture for vacant lots in the Wynnefield and West Philadelphia neighborhoods should include duck ponds and other small green eco-environments, that are studied as a required part of the science curriculum for elementary and middle school students attending the Philadelphia public schools.
